You know people are perplexed by it, and that's why you decided to do it. Your fingers are clacking over the keyboard faster than usual, spurred on by the glee you'll get when your readers click open the piece and are confronted with
themselves.
Taking a moment to rest, you think about who is actually going to read your work. They might be young, in which case you can't write anything too explicit, or they'll be pulled out of the world you want to immerse them in. They might be old, and then you can't have them playing with the other kids in the street, or they'll feel more isolated and alone wherever they are.
If they're gay, you can't have them kissing a girl, that might put them off your work entirely, depending on how they take what they're reading. A lesbian being told that she's being seduced by a man? That's laughable. And what happens if they're asexual
then you can't put them in a relationship with anyone at all!
Maybe they'll be an American, in which case they won't understand that Australian slang you're writing. And if they're Australian
well, they might not take too kindly to that Bogan accent you've given them, even if they do speak that particular dialect in real life. With horror, you realise that maybe someone who wants to reads your piece might not speak English
then everything you're writing will be entirely lost on them!
Blinking, you close the window, not bothering to save what you've already written. If you'd actually thought about it before you started tapping away at that keyboard, you would have realised that writing in second person was a lot harder than you thought.
And, sighing, you realised you were now far more confused than anybody who would have read your writing would have ever been.

It's a very thoughtful bit of stuff you've got there, thanks for writing it.

I want to find that person who will hold me and tell me everything will be alright, and who, just by holding me, can make me believe them.
